Keith J. Murphey

Keith is not very good with words and has asked that I write this piece for him. Keith was born on the shoreline with big dreams of becoming a famous artist. As like other artists Keith doodled at an early age.The doodles became sketchs and then the sketchs became finished works of art. This encouraged Keith to seek to further his education. Then he attended art school (Paier College of Art) and discovered everyone else had the same dream! Needless to say this did not cause him to give up so early in the game. He learned to paint and understand the nature of commercial illustration. Keith began doing freelance work which included murals, portraits, and design. He did not enjoy the inconsistency of the freelance work. Instead he discovered that he was good at teaching. Specifically young adolescents which he did during and upon graduation for approximately seven years.

In late 2000 Keith founded a group called C.A.G. (comic artists guild). The group brings together like minded individuals with the goal of creating self published comic books. CAG has created three anthologies and has formed a formidable place in todays comic book talent pool. CAG is in their fourth year since conception.

Currently Keith is accepting commissions for comic book oriented projects only. He is currently working on a book of his own work which he plans on publishing in late 2005. If you do have a project that you have that you would like to send him click here!
